Just saw the movie and it was so kickass, for CG it was really realistic, any other opinions?

I didn't really feel the urge to go see it after what I've heard. Beowulf is an awesome story, but I heard that they really messed with the story line to fit it into pop culture. With that said it could still be entertaining, but it bugs me that they manipulated a classic =/

I dunno...to be honest I'm a little bit creeped out that its not....real people but it does look hella convincing.

 

 

Any comments on the story? Someone that saw it...can you tell me if its true to the original story and if the acting was hella good......

yeah they changed ALOT of the story, but it all flowed together there wasnt the gap between grendel's mother and the dragon that there is in the original telling; but i dont like that they pretty much defaced the honorable title of beowulf, he's supposed to be the ultimate epitomy of a hero even with the ego yknow? and in the film they just played him off as some steroid-junkie looking for a hot piece of ass

 

i also didnt like the ending, but what can you do yknow?

 

the graphics in 3-d were RIDICULOUS i would keep forgetting it was CGI alot of times; im also glad they didnt do the standard lame ass 3-d effect you'd see in the old 70's film *friday the 13th part 3 comes to mind* it gave it a much deeper feel to it as well

 

i also agree with critics that if you dont see it in 3-d its not nearly as compelling.

 

i also thought it was kinda funny that angelina was used of all people, someone so iconic yknow? it also leaves it open for people to spoof with it saying angelina has been around for THAT long and is in fact a demon succubus that's been manipulating men for ages. =P

What really bothered me was how it didn't go with the original story much. The graphics were good, but that doesn't make up for a lack of a good classic story.

 

My friends have also watched this and pretty much said it was a bore. Maybe it's just us, so more input would be good to hear.

(Telling from the previews) wasn't it rated-R for a little while? Haven't read the whole story but from what I did indicated it was pretty gory. Do you think fitting it for a PG-13 took away from it? Conversely, do you think things they added damaged it?

there supposed to releasing another nc-17 version i forget when, thats gonna be the new things with some movie relasing 2 differnet ratings of them... so pg-13 is prob lacking i wanna see the nc-17 version...
