florasunshine 0
exactly. i had to restring a few because the original was either too tight or about to break, and i almost felt bad for doing it, because that person made it for someone, and didnt want it ruined. i saved the string though, so it made me feel better! LMAO!!!! I have TOTALLY DONE THAT BEFORE!
prix 1
I just found 2 giant ice-cream buckets full of pony beads in my basement, so i was just going to start making some, then i realized that the only real string i had around the house was parachute cord, climbing rope, and shoelaces. unfortunately the para cord and climbing rope are two big for the beads, and glowsticks are currently occupying my shoelaces, and i am not going to take the ones off of my shoes. I am going to have to buy some string somewhere. any suggestions on what to get? elastic, non-elastic, flat, round, colors, no colors. there are so many choices. so i will look to the elite kandi makers here on gsc for guidance as for what to buy. oh. and i suppose i could use dental floss, but i don't want myself smelling like mint. Trance-Rckr 3
stretch-rite at wal-mart is what pretty much everyone uses. its in the sewing isle, and get the round ones, not the flat looking stretchy string (youll see what im talking about) some people do use a plastic stretchy bead cord, but it loses the stretch and if too tight it can easily break. plus you have to melt the knot for it to not fall apart. Omen20154 0
I don't get into candies. To be hones I kind of think it looks gay on dudes if they wear candies. I'm not downing anyone who does, its just my personal view on things.
Trance-Rckr 3
^ i dont feel that it looks gay on guys. it does look weird if you wear a ton when your not at an event, but when your partying the night away, i could care less how someone looks. it all breaks down to the point that outside people who dont know or understand the culture tend to judge what they see, and not what they know. im not saying your wrong to say how you feel, but im just throwing my 2 cents out there :

If I ever make my own I'll probably just wear one or two to school or whatever. I'm not the person that looks good wearing tons of flashy colors. haha
Omen20154 0
Posted by trance-rckr it all breaks down to the point that outside people who dont know or understand the culture tend to judge what they see When I say I think candies look gay on dudes, thats not an outside view on things. I have been raving since 96 organizing since 99. Thats just my personal view on this perticular topic. Not an objective sterytopical view from the outside. To further this oponion; I would also like to say that when you do dress like that, It attracts attention. Attention that is, in most cases, unwanted. Thats why most of the legit raves have dress codes now. UFO's, candies, hell glow sticks for that matter, attract unwanted attention. This is why you see most clubs banning such items. Which by the way really sucks because I love to wear my UFO's. (had to say that) Now back to the original topic. I did not mean to offend anybody by this comment. I was not saying that you are gay if you wear candies, and if you are then more power to you. Thats just my take on things. Give it 10 yrs or so and you might grow to share the same oponion that I do.
prix 1
thank you Trance-Rckr for the info. however, i did not like the lapse into people calling candy gay looking on guys. shame on you omen and i hope your mother sends you off to bed without supper anyway, so as long as it stretches its good, right? jivic852 0
I only wear maybe five pieces of kandi max on both wrists, but that's about it. I tend to keep it a little on the boring side lol.
Arius 2
hehe, i try to do that. but then i go "oooo i like this one alot too!" so i put that on. and then I go "and this one is shiny!" so i puit that on. and lastly i'll go "these 10 mean alot to me..." so i eventually am wearing half my collection on a good day
shockfever 0
I wear some!! Not too much, a)because I don't have a lot and b)because too much makes glowsticking kind of awkward; if I'm going to really go at it I'll pocket them for a set. I love making it though. I love that feeling after I've made a bunch and put them all on for the first time. XD Sadly I do not own kandi...but if I had some I'd wear it. All my old kandi got lost in the shuffle of moving... I'm gonna make you a piece for the next party, then! I'll put gs.c on it ^^

Trance-Rckr 3
Im not going to lie, its very difficult to glowstick with kandi, even if its just a few. For me, I will usually go to events with anywhere of 30 to 50 per arm. Its caused me to go from 100% stringing, to damn near all the way freehanding. even then its still not as easy. For some reason, I dont mind it though
DizzyxD 0
Kandi trade? cannot trade if i dont have any to begin with.. maybe i should make some..if i had time
angelantigone 0
I've been rockin' UFO's and kandi for like 8 years now... and I'm 23. Never grow old, and always dress for the occasion. ^.^ at this point though, most every piece I have is something that's been traded, except for like 4 or 5 that are crazy sentimental - I still have the first one I ever received and on the original string, too. I don't go raver all the time (kinda tough being a classical pianist, going to formal events, having to put on a face to represent something else that I'm truly involved in). It still comes out when I party though ^.^
