Do you wear kandi?

Recommended Posts

I've still got quite a few pieces of kandi somewhere in my room *haven't really worn it since I moved*. Atleast, I hope I do.

Anyways, I usually don't wear it cause it tends to mess with my freehanding and stringing. However, on the nights when I know I'll just be dancing and not sticking, or for special occasions, I will wear all my kandi on each arm.

As for UFOs....I only have one pair, but you can be sure that I usually wear them to events. Them, or any one of my wide legged pant.

I wear at least one piece of Kandy everyday. Sometimes I make some that match my Rubios shirt.

I get compliments, and find secret raver friends this way, especially at work. If someone says "I like your Kandy, the next question usually ends up being about parties and how much fun it is. I found a female vet who was a raver. Pretty cool.

I wear kandi! Only a few bracelets, though. For one, I don't have much, and two, kandi does get in the way sometimes. I'll usually take them off when I'm freehanding. Unless I'm at a rave, then I just have to kinda take one for the team.

At Lovefest, I got a pink piece of kandi from a girl after I'd given her a lightshow. Though she was a complete stranger and I'll never see her again, there's something about it that just warms my heart. I've been wearing the bracelet every day since then. It's like carrying around a token of positive energy with you. And there's this one bead that's slightly off-color.. silly kandi raver.. I love it! :)

I've also been sporting my 2 kandi bracelets made by Cadayday. I appreciate it Everett..! :biggrin2:

I think it's neat that rave culture is associated with this particular style of jewelry, such that people from the "scene" can identify others as being a part of that scene when they wear that jewelry style... curious, curious. :) I'll continue rockin mine till they break.

I've never been that into kandi, but some of it I just can't pass on. florasunshine's making me black and white checkered arm bracers, I'll definitely wear those. If I pay her enough she said she'll make me what I've always wanted, full body kandi armor. Just like what a medieval knight would wear, but made of kandi haha.

been to a few raves but i havent recieved any kandi yet... :( talked to alot of strangers tho lol

can anybody tell me what happens in the ritual when members of two parties decide to exchange bracelets? is it out of the blue kinda thing?

EXAMPLE

raver1: You look fabulous in that outfit. you have a bracelet, i have a bracelet as well.

raver2: ok lets trade

*they trade*

*they hug*

*part ways*

seems kinda awkward, but at raves nothing is awkward so i dunno...

sorry if im going off topic, but its still about kandi.

totally agree with flora on this one.

its THE best icebreaker ever. trust me, if

you want to get the name of that cute girl/guy, kandi always wins.

I usually go to people with a few bracelets, and just ask if they want to trade.

i pick out the one i want them to have, then we hold hands. they slide theirs on

me, and i slide mine on theirs. we high 5 or hug, and keep on dancing :)

sometimes i can pick out the ones who are new to raving, and i introduce myself

and give them a bracelet. most say they have nothing in return, but i always tell em

"all i want is for you to enjoy yourself".

if the DJ's are willing, i can sometimes trade with them mid-set! i will hold up a bracelet to them, and if they agree i will toss it or hand it to em (depending on the booth)

in my opinion, i love making it more than trading :)

i love my kandi because each one has a story i love it and i could never trade them unless i make them

exactly.

i had to restring a few because the original was either too tight or about to break, and

i almost felt bad for doing it, because that person made it for someone, and didnt want

it ruined. i saved the string though, so it made me feel better!
