electronic_heartbeat 0
just wondering if anyone saw the new movie yet. i don't even know when it comes out. HAHAHA i read a review that said the movie left out a lot of the political undertones, and even cut out all the problems harry had with ron and hermione. personally i don't htink there was much action in the 5th book, but a lot of interpersonal drama. if they were gonna cut that out i don't know how much else is left except for cheap special effects. and the review said it wasn't as good as past harry potter movies. i was hoping they'd redeem themselves one day i was gonna reread the book in time for the movie and then decided that doing so would only aid in me hating the movie more haha. movies may never do an original book or graphic novel justice but i think the harry potter movies are a hopeless case. i've just watched the movies... just because .. it's like watching a car crash i guess . . ok ok i'ts not THAT bad. but yeah, has anyone watched it yet? is it worth it? goddamn it's so hot and muggy today on a side note, ... HARRY POTTER RULES! O_O!
DnBBeats 0
Im going to see it soon.... On an off note...if you like harry potter you should hella do a harry potter glowsticking thing like your other atr work...that would be funnie and cool to see..HAHAHAHA
Easy_Target 0
Frankly I think they should've stayed true to the book. The fourth movie, Goblet of fire only had about 1/3 of the original plotline. Considering the length of Order of the Phoenix this time will probably be about 1/5 of the plotline. P4C IVI4N 0
I just watched all of the movies over the past few weeks for the first time, and the new one was great, but not as good as the others. It had alot of twist and unexpected things happen, and the main plot was Harry's internal battle which was interesting. Not too much action, there are some good fights in it though. I have never read any of the books, so I dont have much to say about comparison. Good movie overall.
Cody 4
Just saw it, I was expecting it to be the worst movie so far seeing as how its the largest book so far and they'd butchered the plot every movie to this point. Easily the best Harry Potter movie I've seen, never got boring or dull, stayed true to the plot and anyone who hadn't read the book would've completely understood it at well. The fight scenes were amazing and the acting was by far leaps and bounds ahead of what it'd been in the past films. This is no kids movie, its dark, serious, and violent. All of the children in the theater were crying 30 minutes into the movie because they were afraid, parents had to take them out.
electronic_heartbeat 0
YES! CHILDREN CRYING! that is the mark of a true angsty movie! LOL. thank you, i take this as the sign that the movie may just be on the right track. oh i am working on a fan art for the Order of Phoenix, but there's no glowsticking ;_; HAHAHAA. it's just a really emo pic where harry is on his knees on the grass at night, one hand holding slytherin's necklace the other holding a note, and looking up at the sky and seeing the faces of tom riddle, snape, draco and dumbledore. EMOOOOO
Finding_Denno 0
Ah yes the movie was more than I expected it to be. The acting was truly better than the previous movies, and although it didnt stay completly true to the book you can still understand the story line easily. The battle was epic, but i thought they kind of rushed the killing of S****** (dont want to spoil it for those who only watch the movies =P). Overall great movie, and midnight showings are totally worth going too! The crowd is much more enthusiastic .
electronic_heartbeat 0
the killing of sssss-----SHNAP! o thanks for the tip btw about midnight showings no crying babies for me, although it would probably give me sadistic pleasure...
Jay 2
I saw it last night in IMAX 3D.. Ive never read any of the books and the only other movie Ive seen was the one before this one. I was lost about half the time because I didnt know what was going on I thought it kind of sucked. Im sure most of its my fault though since Ive missed like half the series so far. Temporal 0
I've thought about seeing it, I really have. . But my mind has been stuck on '300'. . I don't really know why. I'm not going to watch it until my '300' fix is over or I will rate it unfairly.
electronic_heartbeat 0
HAHA bit late but i watched it literally RIGHT BEFORE THE LAST BOOK WAS RELEASED! (last saturday. literally walked right out of the theatre into the nearest borders and caught the last 3 seconds of the countdown till midnight) starting from the 3rd movie on, i hadn't reread the book in preparation for hte movie; it fuels my anger even moreso. but i have to say, i was quite impressed with the 5th movie, honestly i think it was the most well-done out of all the movies. there was considerably less wasted time and screen space, and the acting was loads better. by wasted time i mean awkward silences of peple staring at each other, and by screen space i mean that the director has done a better job conveying the world and environment of harry potter in the background. i thought the occlumency lesson and the acting were incredibly well done, though i wish at the end tehy showed more of the rooms in the department of mysteries, like the time room, the tank full of brains, etc. i think the movie made perfect sense to me; my dad read half the 5th book and he only understood half of it, lol. i guess it's a lot of information to cram into a movie, since the book is so long and full of angst (which, btw the movie did a better job of handling i think. the book was just WAAAAYYY too angsty). so maybe as a movie it wasn't as clear, but as an adaptation for the book, for readers of the book, i think they did a good job. honestly, i think that should be the movie's first priority (keeping true to the book while sacrificing absolute clarity for peole who haven't read the book) the screenplay was SO MUCH BETTer because they actually used a lot of dialogue WORD-FOR-WORD! FINALLY!!!! and tey FINALLY got the details right (what luna was wearing, etc), as opposed to the movie blatantly forgetting details (dudley and petunia are blond in the book, brunette in the movie...sirius black, having been tortured in azkaban for 13 years, reappears in the shrieking shack positivitly yelling and robust with good health. i mean, wtf? the book at least said he was sallow and quiet right?) anyway finished reading teh 7th book and i think jk rowling has done good use of mind expanding substances. DeCepTion 0
I thought the movie was awesome. It was more dark and serious. Kept me on the edge of my seat. My favorite movie so far.
SynfulSquirrel 1
...my only complaints: -no 'clock room' at ministry of magic -no 'animated statue' in dumbledore vs voldermort (sad panda *sniff*) -Nevil went emo.... Other than that, not too bad. I really liked the wand fight coreography, especially with the white/black clouds(?) as they appirated around ^.^
