kemicalU4ia 6
hey what's up youngins!(: i as a n00bie decided to pull out my needle and do some "THEARDING"(....not the best play on words). So I've been a member for a month now, and the word on the sticks is that US newbs tend to sign up, post a vid, then bail out never to be seen again. Now to me that'sa buncha jibba jabba, see im new to this site, but my passion for this art has been growing inside me for about a year now(10months as of yesterday) and im HERE to STAY! for years to come trust me. Getting to the point i decided to make this thread for US newcomers to show these vets that we're here, we understand what we stand for and want to be a part of this family. I feel that we are the Most passionate ones b/c we are virgins to this {we all know what that first time feels like....addiction} i know the feeling i get while stringing is impeccable. So us as newcomers are gonna have to reignite the flame, if you will, and carry on the culture once these geezers become old&brittle.xp jk So just post a little something regarding reassurance to these vets that we AINT goin nowwhere, and that we understand and are passionate about what we love doing, that is glowsticking and this gsc community!! -hope that sounds right, when i read it back, it sounds like Texas slang....ehh

kemicalU4ia 6
It seems like there is only ten of us who are a part of gsc, now a days..and i know moppy comments like that don't lead us in the right direction. Im guilty myself for not have posted in weeks to a month, recently started lurking on the fb groups..but i guess its better we go back UG as hinde said

Im guilty myself for not have posted in weeks to a month, recently started lurking on the fb groups..but i guess its better we go back UG as hinde said From my perspective the fb group isn't much bigger, as in the amount of people who actually post anything. I don't remember HInde saying anything about going back "underground". I believe he was asking a question and I'm almost certain that Hinde does not belong to gsc. He is friends with plenty of gsc members, yes, but I don't think he's ever been a part of gsc. I could be wrong though. I was absent from here for a 2 year stretch. Please remember that not any one person speaks for an entire community. Not just here, but everywhere in life. I do see your point on there not being many active members here on gsc, but that doesn't mean that the community is weak. Be the catalyst and post videos, make tutorials, ask for tutorials, arrange meet-ups, attend meet-ups, create more threads (not everything has to be soo serious as culture issues), have fun in the sandbox, etc... Docfunkalot 6
Hello fellow new(er-ish) stringer! About 7 months under my belt here. Or well, I'll say in my sleeve since I don't really wear belts. But kemicalU4ia is right! I'm here to stay. I know I've got at LEAST four more years to, what with SLO GLO and all. And I'm not planning on jumping ship... ever.

nekoshan 4
I just wanted everyone to know that I'm still here, I've just been dealing with a myriad of health problems that make it hard to get much accomplished throughout the day. The brief moments I feel well enough to be up and about I'm usually practicing new moves though (in 5 - 20min increments :/ ), so I've slowly been improving here and there, and I'm trying to stay motivated. It's really frustrating that right after I began glowstringing seriously was when I developed all of these problems, but such is life I guess. Looking at it more positively, my lack of energy has given me ample time to think about ideas of how to help ensure the continuance of GSC & glowstringing culture, and I've also thought of several interesting topics that I want to organize into new forum posts. I really want to help promote and enrich GSC and the culture in any way I possibly can; my recent health issues have become a serious point of contention by interfering with that intent.
Noqturnal 35
It seems like all the people who were newbies when I first joined are either super inactive or just left the site in favor of facebook groups.... I want to rekindle the site as well. I actually just made a thread in this section of the forums offering to do live tutorials on skype in hopes of getting newbies to "stick" around. Willing to learn? I'm willing to teach. Edited June 26, 2012 by Noqturnal

Aqua 15
Thank you for this wonderful post ^-^ I stopped glowsticking for 4 years and returned at the start of 2018. At that time, I heard a lot of people say that the scene was dead, but I've realized since then that the scene is only dead if we stop. There's been a great resurgence of activity since and I love seeing new people with a ton of passion like you
