ParaPara Anyone?

I am a huge fan of ParaPara, which is essentially Japanese disco dancing. It's been around since the 80's and reincarnates itself back into fashion in Japan roughly every 5 years or so.

ParaPara focuses mostly on arm movements, many of which could be used in glowsticking... in fact, I have used quite a few of them while glowsticking. :)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else knows of or is into ParaPara.

Here are some ParaPara videos:

This girl is quite good at it and I definitely recommend checking out her videos:

And here's some videos of me failing up some ParaPara. :)

I've seen it, though I must admit I don't know much about it. Essentially, ParaPara's focus is upper body, right?

Yes. The primary focus is upper body motions while the feet tend to just step side to side, back and forth. However, some dances do use more complex footwork, but not much more complex. Some use a front to back step, and occasionally, you'll have ParaPara that uses little to no foot movements at all.

99% of the time, all movements start on the right side and are repeated on the left, however, this can vary from time to time.

Technically, there are a few different styles too... ParaPara is usually in reference to the dances that use traditional Eurobeat style music, but there is also TechPara, for heavier techno, and ToraPara, for trance techno.

TechPara is usually so intense on arm movements that quite often there are no leg movements at all.

Here's some ToraPara... personally, I find ToraPara to be on the boring side.:

Some of the arm movements can get really complex, but they look really neat. I think freehand glowstickers could benefit from learning some ParaPara moves. :)

Well, it's interesting, though I must say that the music's not really my fav XD The patterns would look good however.
