This is an older video from youtube, but does an excellent job of covering all the basics in an easy to view and listen format. Came from the typical hatred of people calling all electronic dance music "techno".

Ok small doubt, I'm not into the harder genres much, but if based on the video, I'd say that the basic difference between hardcore and hardstyle would be the speed right? And another thing, Goa and psy aren't really the same thing, they're similar, but psy derived from goa, and goa is a lil' different from psy itself. Anthem trance in the video = uplifting? Or at least, that's what I think. And from what I've seen, progressive can be found within other subgenres of trance and EDM. Anyways, I believe this is a good video, I personally hate it when people call it "techno", and specially when they think they know everything about it...
