Kandi up to the elbows??

Recommended Posts

Raves usually consist of the wacky dressing, crazy makeup, and kandi up to their elbows or maybe even passing it.

Many people say its retarted, and looks plain stupid.

I personally dont think its stupid, i make kandi too and i love it  i mean i dont wear it up to my elbows but i personally dont get bothered by it. A person can do what they want with it. I dont really think it kills any purpose of kandi being kandi. its just simply showing the collection of which they have.

So i have to ask this:

What are your thoughts and opinions on it?

Kandi is sick. I love the way it looks. Especially when u get those glow in the dark beads and they light up under the black lights... Up to the elbows? thats kinda... stupid.

If you have enough time to make that much kandi, why not put all that time and effort into something to help others?

THIS IS COMPLETELY AN OPINION BY ME. please dont get mad. :)

Kandi = Memories. Even when the people that gave you the pieces are gone for one reason or another, you take them with you. It helps build a rapport, create more memories, get and give ideas on how to make new kandi.

^ THAT

I really don't mind when people wear kandi every which way. It's their choice to have 50 lbs of kandi on them or not it's who we are. And most of us that are in the rave scene should accept it because that's what ravers do we accept one another.

I wear kandi up to my elbows. I think thats the beauty of a kandi kid. I personally beleive that a kandi kid is someone whos able to give 100 peices a way during a night and still have a ton left.

I think kandi up to the elbows is visually exciting, and definatly shows that they are ready to party. Granted, Its made me transition from strings to freehanding, but either way im still having fun.

TO THE ELBOWS PLEASE AND THANK YOU!!!!!!!!i don't leave home without at least 5 singles on and if i am at a rave its usually past the elbows.......

I think that each raver has their own unique style as well, some only wear like one piece but it might be their most sacred treasure!!!!!!

I don't usually have it all the way up to my elbows, but pretty close. I don't see a problem with it. It gives character. You get to see everyone's unique pieces. I love it! Sometimes it makes it hard to glowstick though so if I plan on doing a whole lot glowsticking wise, I won't wear as much.

Personally, I'm not a kandi kid nor much of a raver, & my focus at parties is the music & glowsticking. the first thing I think is that having kandi up to your elbows could limit you, no matter whether you're a stringer (getting caught on wraps) or a freehander (restricting wrist/elbow movement).

But hey, if it's your thing, it's your thing. It's a fashion statement, it's a culture statement, it's whatever statement you're trying to make it. Just not mine.

i usually don't wear kandi anymore. it becomes combersome when working outside like i often am. during the summer i usually don't wear much on a daily basis, but school i usually wore a single or two, at least.

when i'm out to party or show that i am proud to be a kandi kid, i'll usually wear it up near my elbows. this doesn't happen often, since i don't often get to raves (AKA: NEVER >.<) but the times that i do are to have fun with the few other kandi kid(s) i know and just goof around while walking through town, the mall, etc. just having fun.

and i think that's the key of kandi in general. the memories and friendships associated with them, and just being yourself and having fun!

i love wearing kandi it brings memories of ppl that ive met and places i have been BUT i dont wear all the kandi i have to a rave because i string lol i would normally wear like 10 5 on each arm just for the sake of trading but i have a good amount at home

also i wear kandi during the day too lol sometimes 3 some times 1 it all depends lol

I'm definitely not a kandi kid by any stretch of the imagination and I focus on kandi as more of a jewlery piece, I like kandi that I can wear to work and still "conform" to my slacks and blazers.

I love trading and making pieces for people but its not my personal style to wear so many of them when I party. I normally head out with about 3 peices on and whatever I get during the night. I do love me some kandi kids tho. :D

I think if kandi is your style than up to the elbows is amazing. I enjoy seeing it on people who live like kandi kids.

I don't enjoy seeing it on people whom I consider posers. To me it's the same as seeing any other type of poser.

It all depends on the setting: At a rave I wear all the kandi I can fit on my arms. When I'm out in public or with my friends I wear about 5 or 6 singles on each arm; sometimes a cuff or two if I feel like it. At work I only wear one small cuff. It adds some much-needed color to my work outfit without making me look too unprofessional.

Honestly I don't care for kandi all that much but that doesn't mean I'm gonna hate on someone if they are covered in it. They are going to be who they are and do what they want just as I will.

When I think about kandi,

Quality > Quantity IMO

I personally wouldn't wear kandi up to my elbows, I usually wear 2-5 pieces at most to a rave all of them being very unique and very special to me. I rarely trade, but when I do it actually means something.

I love kandi up to the elbows tbh. I wear the ones that i consider "special" and if they happen to go up to the elbows, oh well haha.

Kind of gets annoying to do wraps on though. =/
