Disco Back Catalog..... Okay Maybe thats punk rock!!!! MC Lars= Win! hahahahah I first heard that song when I was driving and started laughing so hard I almost crashed. For that you win 1 internetz I first heard that song when I was driving and started laughing so hard I almost crashed. I heard a weird edited version of it once in hottopic's favor. Kimba 0
I just went to my local HT store yesterday. They have them there too, along with some bigger "cuffs".

Kimba 0
Hot Topic cuff:
Dz99 0
I don't see any reason for anyone to get upset over wannabe ravers running around with their Hot Topic cookie cutter kandi that has no meaning to them whatsoever and screams "I want attention! Accept me!" Real kandi kids will still learn how to make their own stuff and will continue thinking of those they have met or will meet whom they want to design special, one-of-a-kind pieces for... that's what really matters anyway. I could tell stories about nights chilling and shooting the shit with every single person who's kandi I wear, and I can pretty confidently say they'll remember me a lot more than just some beads I gave them at a party.
Alouette 0
i wonder if they have people in china make the kandi... or if they have developed machines to string it all together... if so it would save me a lot of time... JK!! lol
Dogman 0
Went to mall Friday. Hot Topic kandi and fingerlights confirmed for South Central US.
akamrchubs 0
i feel like epic fail... i made some traders that look like that... ='(
MattGraves 0
Well, I can't say I'm not upset by this. Nor can I say I'm very suprised. It was only a matter of time before someone noticed kandi and went "OH HAY THAT'S COLORFUL SCENE KIDS WILL KILL EACH OTHER FOR THEM LETS SELL IT" Oh well. Let them wear the bracelets, we'll know who really knows what they mean just by the way they dress and act.
BlueImpulse 0
Woooow, premade kandi? I didn't know that hot topic had sunk that low. I knew something was wrong when I saw that they were selling glowsticks. (OVERPRICED ONES, TOO WTF) That makes me really upset b'cause. . .kandi is supposed to be made by individuals, and is supposed to be given to other people as a token of friendship and love. The thought of "kandi" being made in a cold factory somewhere and sold for profit makes me shiver.
Alouette 0
The thought of "kandi" being made in a cold factory somewhere and sold for profit makes me shiver. personally the thought of any kandi being sold (hand or machine made) makes me shiver...

Flecherd 0
Sadness, so I just got back from hot topic. I saw this Kandi for the first time. I knew it existed but I had never seen it. The sad part is. My sister had given me one. EWWWWW!!!! She gave it to me like 2 weeks ago, but then I saw it on the shelf and on my wrist and I nearly puked. I felt dirty. But really, its probably not going to be a lasting problem.

angelantigone 0
-.- I saw that yesterday. Almost started crying. There's something fundamentally wrong with factory and/orFortunately, I got distracted by super rainbow socks... *muse* I do miss the UFO pants though... and who'd'a thunk rave-style and kandi would go mainstream? (I concur on the petticoats being hideous. However, they make fun accessories for fuzzy legwarmers if you tear them apart. I don't think anything I own from Hot Topic is in it's original condition... I tear it apart, add kandi to it, sew it to other things... whatever. Even some hats.)

HullaPunk 0
So I do agree with everyone here on the whole fact that HT kinda sucks and is a sell out, but that's their business.....they want to make money. Plus, who's to say they are ripping off ravers... yeah I know it looks just like kandi but it's not. Just as a few people stated earlier, even if it looks like it, it doesn't say kandi on it.....so it's more or less a beaded bracelet. My girlfriend's little sister and all her little friends have a ton of bracelets....but they made those themselves. They aren't mimicking kandi, they are just making cool bracelets. To anyone other than the raving community kandi is something you eat, not something you wear. Also when I think about it... when I was young there was a point in time when I knew nothing of the culture, or even what a rave was. Having those bracelets and other raving gear out there gives a possibility to bring new potentials to the scene..... sure it also has potential to bring just as many posers as those people who really are interested, but it happens either way. Besides, posers won't make it or last long in the scene..... only those who really feel it will stay.... it's kinda like a test So in my opinion....yes they are ugly and a disgrace, but if it leaves the possibility to bring just one more young person to the culture, so HT sell sell sell!!!! shockfever 0
ughh. I agree with everyone saying that this wont last long. Rave outfits are about fun and ORIGINALITY. It's hard to be original when 15 other people are wearing the exact same tutu you are.
Jamerson 0
....Think about the poor children that are sitting around making these things...How could you wear something thats supposed to represent the ideals of PLUR . . . and . . . ugh disgust.
got glow? 0
This is just sad To me HT always = Overpriced Esp nowadays their glowsticks 2 for $5???? Back in 2000, they were like 2 for $2 which was'nt bad back then, but now, I just buy mine in bulk or @ Target from the Dollar Spot 2 for $1 And whenever someting is popular, oh let's just take for instance The Joker from last year's movie "The Dark Knight" - HT had a pretty accurate long purple coat for $80, which sold out nearly immediately, and ended up on ebay for 3 times the ammount - WTF? So IMO, they take advantage of whatever is "popular" @ the moment and mass produce it and way overcharge for it as well - so much for being "undeground" and " unique"
undergroundkandikid 0
i dont think kandi is actual kandi unless it is home made... and good for you hiding the kandi. hopefully this will die down soon
florasunshine 0
To anyone other than the raving community kandi is something you eat, not something you wear. The first time I told my mom i had to buy kandi supplies, she thought i was buying drugs. Apparently in the 70s cocaine was called candy
