Guest Blitz
Hey, I've been messing around making tracks with logic and my korg m1/ moog little phatty for about a year now. But I was wondering... what programs/instrumentation do the big name djs use when they're making their beats? Cause i highly doubt tiesto is sitting in his room using frootyloops to create his next album.... Thanks, Blitz
TeddyGlow 0
Hey, I've been messing around making tracks with logic and my korg m1/ moog little phatty for about a year now. Cause i highly doubt tiesto is sitting in his room using frootyloops to create his next album.... Thanks, Blitz actually tiesto usues (or used to use) FL lol alot of big names use FL, i know alot of hardstyle producers use that, ableton live and cubase. they mostly use samples from sample cd's and a midi keyboard. its all digital now. they all do the same thing in the end except some programs have add-ons that r just crazy. im currently usin cubase with halion (to use samples as midi and be able to bring the sound up or down an octive) and a 25 key midi keyboard with a few addons. do ure research on what is most comfortable for you. dont worry about who uses what. do U not any1 else
.:Ess:. 0
ok i will cut it down for you LOGIC is grand master of all sequencers and its audio edditing functions are great it is soon to take over pro tools word is lol allot of House, Trance, Electro and other more mature EDM styles all use logic mainly becsue it is great to use and cubase is not exactly sturdy with MAC Macs are the preosesr of choice atm mainly becsue it is verry reliable and simple to use i meen a system that does not crash sounds good to me, cubase is great too but PC is verry unreliable when it comes to audio world crashes are expected and there is nothing like working on a track for few days only to have it crash when you are haveing a artistic moment another program that is soon to rival cubase is Sonar by cakewalk it is becomeing a Fav ammound hardstyle and hard dance producers for it Step sequencer mode similar to FL while haveing Great Audio quality and great plugins included in teh softwhere like rapture, radius, and few others realy and truely no matter what ppz say FL just does not cut it when it comes to makeing well produced songs and works pretty poor with WAVs becsue of fls bit loss rate granted for Techno,Euro,NRG,Doink it works a treat makes slapping to gether a tune easy as pie but if you are looking to make a nice bouncy house track u are in abit of trouble FL is a great learning tool without a doubt for ages 10 and up lol but there comes a time where you have to take off training weels and move up to a proper sequencer becsue mastering a FL track to make it sound good is abit of an effort becuse the quality you are mixing down with is pretty low like i said good for techno and all that where it is verry mecanical and that but for house where you are tring to greate and atmosphere and get ur sounds bounceing off each other FL does not cut it
Dellphia 0
if you're wondering what tiesto uses, check his site, he names everything he uses there. Yea lot of folks use FL. I do on occasion, other wise i use my Fantom X...the G looks nice don't it? People like deadmau5 use it to process his beats, and then bounces them down to a wav. file and sequences everything else in another DAW.
