FlowRate 0
How many people on here have undertaken and succeeded at weight loss? What worked for you? How fast/how long? I'm currently going the route of exercising 3-5 days a week combined with taking in about 1800 calories a day. That should leave me with a deficit anywhere between 500 and 1500 calories, depending on how fast my basal metabolic rate is. That means I should lose between 1 and 3 pounds a week. Ideas/comments/suggestions/testimonies?
Easy_Target 0
I've undertaken it. Very little in carbs and high in protein and veggies. Basically a healthy version of the atkins diet. Instead of any fatty meats dripping in fat you can get, I used lean meats like chicken and pork. Paired with mild exercise in addition to my regular travel routine, I lost about 8lbs in two months. Just to let you know, 3lbs a week is bordering unhealthy. It causes stress on the body because for some it's too rapid of a change. That and it has a higher chance of yoyoing. FlowRate 0
Yeah, I don't think I'll hit 3. The hard part will be losing enough weight then going back to eating normally without overeating again. I think I eat mostly due to boredom.

moonlitraid 0
celery is good because it is negative calories because it take the body more energy to break it down then you join from eating it

I was getting 3 lbs per week then 2 now about 1 since I was feeling totally exhausted and I haven't gone to the gym as much as I should be. I'm down about 20 pounds since I started tho. SecretsofManna 0
_Drink lots of water _Exercise. Choose to walk when possible [ie:instead of taking car, escalators, elevators, etc.] Every bit helps. _Apples work like celery except they give nutrition as well as burning more calories then you take in. _Many smaller meals a day rather than 2-3 big meals _Take smaller bites, chew slower, and chew more times per bite. You will feel full sooner since it takes 15 minutes[?] for your stomach to tell your brain that it's full. Feeling full sooner means eating less unnecessary food in the long run. _Fruit smoothies. FlowRate 0
25lbs lost and counting. (5 more to initial goal, 25 more to final goal) Luckily, I'm 6'2" and weigh ~205 right now, which means my body naturally burns a lot of calories (3500 or so per day if I work out 5 times a week). For small women (~1800-2000 calories a day to stay normal), weight loss has got to be a pain. For me, I can lose a pound a week eating relatively normally. I started cheating recently though. Eventually you get burned out on being hungry all the time and not being able to eat anything. But I'm going to jump back on the diet and exercise pretty soon once all my busy-ness settles down. USNDOC 0
there are some things when looking into weight loss. i work with a dietician and this is what he recommends: no calorie containing beverage except for milk. no deserts. no added fat I.E. mayonaisse no fried foods. no egg yolks, cheses, or high in fat meat. there is also the FITT principle: F-frequency 3-4 times or whatever it may be I-intensity working out at a rate of 60%-80% how you know when you get to those rates is 60%- talking is uncomfortable 80%- having to stop and catching your breathe before talking T-time this is how long you would work out for. let says somwhere from 40 min- 90 min T-type there are 2 types of training aerobic fitness and anaerobic fitness aerobic is with oxygen so any type of cardio would be under this category anaerobic is without oxygen so that is your resistance training (weight lifting)
