i'm a waver as well. For me i found the key to expanding my waving was learning how to do isolations. They were essential for making the waves look clean and crisp. I know waving is a little different than liquid, but there are certainly a lot of parallels as well.

here is a vid of WaveOmatic. This is one of my favorite waving vids at the moment. Not exactly a tutorial, but its certainly provided me with lots of inspiration.

if you look up "wave o lab" on youtube you'll find a lot of really good waving videos.

You might also try looking up "liquid pop collective" They do more liquid than waving, and they've got some good videos up on youtube as well.

Love liquid here as well. That video is definitely smooth. Good to see people take the theory of liquid and apply it to more than just hands and arms.

To understand basic concept, liquid is based on the idea of waves. Being able to move adjacent joints in smooth and opposite/perpedicular directions without being too riggid. Though in general, liquid breaks down to mostly just the hand movements, with tracing, waving, locking, mime (not sure if there is a different term for when used within dancing) and the such.

Much of what you may have seen over the years, and recent, it's mostly a bit of liquid with a bit of waves. Though generally you will find at times either term can be interchanged with many of the more complex styles of moves.

As Agent Gibber has mentioned, isolations help with waves. It also does with liquid. To start off with liquid, just check out a few tutorials on youtube (eric from liquid pop collective has a few really good ones) with basic moves. With just your basic moves, isolate it to just a single arm and you can see how the liquid flows with just a single hand moving. Try to mimic it, mirror it, or put another move in with your other hand, and you will see that the possibilities of what you can do is endless.

Probably not of much help, but hopefully the idea came across. Only have helped out face to face, easier to show with the hand movements than with words over the internet.

Thank you! The last two posts really helped me a lot! I love liquid, and hope to get better at it (Though it sure is hard without a teacher!)

I really like liquid. I lovehow it looks so smooth and it just flows so well. I can't liquid too well I just sometimes incoporate it into my gloving. I should practice more though. What I really want to be good at is tutting and finger tutting that stuff is awesome.

I use too but now I just mix it in with basic tuts and freehand ideas.

This is pretty much the idea I had in my head when I started sticking. I'm gonna have to go on a youtube adventure and favorite some of these tutorials. I have pop-n-lock down somewhat but this is definitely what I wanna learn to improve my freehand.
