EDC Vegas 2014 Dates & Ticket Sale Announcement Soon!

15 posts in this topic

This month we find out the official EDC dates for 2014 along with the ticket sale date!  :animier:   Until it's officially announced let's discuss what we know so far:

  1. EDC Vegas presales will be given priority to people who purchased tickets last year.  This is leading me to believe that Fla.vor.us will be the primary ticket website even after the Live Nation deal.
  2. Hotel prices for the third weekend in June are nearly double the rates of other days in that month.  (Believed to be 22, 23, & 24)  (Source: Hotel Websites)
  3. There will be a new EDM related awards show during EDC week.  This will be done in conjunction with Dick Clark Productions (Golden Globe Awards, American Music Awards, & Academy of Country Music Awards).
  4. Most likely the Bassrush Massive will be held that same Thursday at the Orleans Arena like the past three years.
  5. EDC: The Movie, the next EDC documentary is currently in the works with an attempted release date being in March (Source: Pasquale's Twitter/Instagram).

Some of the biggest tips I should suggest after last year's EDC:

  1. The shuttle passes are completely worth it.  Just do your research and find the shuttle stops with the most efficient lines and go to the will call lines EARLY to get your passes.  I believe they open up earlier in the day, so just get it before lunch or something.
  2. Don't look at instagram tags for EDC unless you want the production to be spoiled.  I kind of ruined it for others when we were hanging out before the first day.  :wallbash:
  3. 21+: From other people's previous EDC experiences: Worry about dayclub parties after you're sure you can last during the festival.  Most of the time the headliners for these parties don't go on til hours later anyway, do you can get a bit of rest if you absolutely need to do one of these.
  4. The Cosmopolitan is the absolute best place to hang out during EDC week and weekend if you want to run into artists and production.  Two years ago we ran into Armin van Buuren, Kaskade, Jono (Above & Beyond), Kristina Skye, and others from just running around the hotel doing normal things (eating, gambling, etc.).  Last year we ran into Dash Berlin on the walkway just outside of Cosmopolitan!  This hotel is used for most of the artists and Insomniac staff.
  5. The only hotel on the strip for people under 21 to book is the Circus Circus (you only have to be 18+).  I believe this is due to them having seperate buildings not attached to the casino floor.  Cheapest hotels (pricewise) seem to be Circus Circus, Excalibur, and Luxor.
  6. If you are an M-Life member (MGM Resort's loyalty/player's card), remember to use your benefits and book through that website!  Some people are reporting cheaper rates than booking directly through the hotel!
  7. More TBA!  :rtfm:

I'm so excited for my tenth EDC!  Every single year has been spent with you GSCers, and I will not let that tradition fall!  Anyone else planning the trip?

Anyone got any ideas how we can throw a pre-meet during this busy weekend?  The past three years always seem to fall apart since everyone's all over the place.

EDC has payment plans, and you can split rooms!  Get your airfare early and it'd be cost effective.

We should do it on a day that ISNT at the festival. Either before or after. Plus we dont have to worry about going to edc that day, we can spend more time with GSC'ers.

I will consider the payment plans. I just hope basscon will be there, otherwise it'll be hunting to see random artists again like the first year. I THINK insomniac is putting a pause on it, i am not 100% sure.

Just don't sit on the payment plans too long.  The sooner you do it, the cheaper the payments.

I'm sure they'll have a harder stage this year.  (Q-dance two years ago, Basscon last year) It wouldn't make business sense to get rid of a stage, especially a themed stage (not a technical one) that added more to the experience.

I'd definantly be down for a GSC pre-meet earlier in the week. Managed to miss everyone last year and would love to actually see people again.
