I know this was already said but I feel that it maybe worth saying again, there are many different dialects in japan so it may make times a little akward if speaking to someone with a different dialect. But besides that there is never the same level of learning everywhere. And what I mean by tha is my schools japanese 3 is like a japanese 4 near the end of the year at a school close to us. Have you ever taken or heard of the japanese learning proficiency test? (forgive my spelling I hope less there.) It actually is worth taking you can see what you may need improvement on while taking it and you can see how well you do.

As for studying this year my teacher plans on having us know atleast 45 kanji I think on top of the many that we already know. So I like to use flash cards with the new ones and write up or look over the old ones before throwing them all into a large pile. Or if I'm really bored make a matching game, which takes forever to make when you start to learn a lot so don't loose the cards.

true there is many different dialects in japan .. but they still somehow or someway use the same words, or similiar comparing to the chinese language .. and it's dialect .. bring a cantonese speaking person to talk to a mandaring speaking person .. they wont even know wat each other is trying to say .. at all ..

but this is just my 2 cents ..

Just wondering if Japanese is a good language to take up. Does all the time and effort you put into it really pay off in the end?

Really the same question with any language but Japanese is the language i am currently learning too i guess i'll aim it towards that.

"shy" in japanese is æ¥ãšã‹ã—ã„ (hazukashii)...also interchangeable with "embarrassed". in japanese they have the same meaning.

it's hard for me to get to the site these days, but i'll always help anyone out with japanese that needs it. i know exactly how difficult it is to learn it from english and can teach many tips/tricks that make it more efficient for english speakers to learn it.

lately i have been fully focused on korean (which incidentally is an EXTREMELY similar language to japanese) but the pronunciation has been killer for me since my mind is so molded to the japanese way of pronunciation.

Hmm. Well I've just started learning Japanese this year in college, unfortunately they won't be offering it next year. However, I was just wondering about the different forms of verbs.

For example: hanasu can be changed to hanasanai, hanashimasu, hanasemasu

Is there anything with "o" column?
