Hi all. As the title says I am an aspiring DJ with access only to the GarageBand application on my school Mac computer. I am looking for some cheap but decent equipment to start making some live mixes. Any and all feed back is appreciated.

This question has been asked a lot. Have you tried looking for similar threads? I don't think there is a right answer to this question. It depends on a lot of things like what your goal is, how much money you have to spend, etc. Maybe one of these other threads will help you out:

If you have an iPod Touch there are a few apps that allow you to mix. Although they aren't as visually impressive as decks and a mixer, they are cheap, portable and can still give you the practice you need to move on to better equipment. The two I've used are iTM DJ and Touch DJ. iTM DJ is a midi DJ controller you can use with software like Virtual DJ. Touch DJ is a standalone app and is good to practice with in between classes, during lunch, in the car...etc.
