zin posted a topic in Western USAThis month we find out the official EDC dates for 2014 along with the ticket sale date! Until it's officially announced let's discuss what we know so far: EDC Vegas presales will be given priority to people who purchased tickets last year. This is leading me to believe that Fla.vor.us will be the primary ticket website even after the Live Nation deal. Hotel prices for the third weekend in June are nearly double the rates of other days in that month. (Believed to be 22, 23, & 24) (Source: Hotel Websites) There will be a new EDM related awards show during EDC week. This will be done in conjunction with Dick Clark Productions (Golden Globe Awards, American Music Awards, & Academy of Country Music Awards). Most likely the Bassrush Massive will be held that same Thursday at the Orleans Arena like the past three years. EDC: The Movie, the next EDC documentary is currently in the works with an attempted release date being in March (Source: Pasquale's Twitter/Instagram). Some of the biggest tips I should suggest after last year's EDC: The shuttle passes are completely worth it. Just do your research and find the shuttle stops with the most efficient lines and go to the will call lines EARLY to get your passes. I believe they open up earlier in the day, so just get it before lunch or something. Don't look at instagram tags for EDC unless you want the production to be spoiled. I kind of ruined it for others when we were hanging out before the first day. 21+: From other people's previous EDC experiences: Worry about dayclub parties after you're sure you can last during the festival. Most of the time the headliners for these parties don't go on til hours later anyway, do you can get a bit of rest if you absolutely need to do one of these. The Cosmopolitan is the absolute best place to hang out during EDC week and weekend if you want to run into artists and production. Two years ago we ran into Armin van Buuren, Kaskade, Jono (Above & Beyond), Kristina Skye, and others from just running around the hotel doing normal things (eating, gambling, etc.). Last year we ran into Dash Berlin on the walkway just outside of Cosmopolitan! This hotel is used for most of the artists and Insomniac staff. The only hotel on the strip for people under 21 to book is the Circus Circus (you only have to be 18+). I believe this is due to them having seperate buildings not attached to the casino floor. Cheapest hotels (pricewise) seem to be Circus Circus, Excalibur, and Luxor. If you are an M-Life member (MGM Resort's loyalty/player's card), remember to use your benefits and book through that website! Some people are reporting cheaper rates than booking directly through the hotel! More TBA! I'm so excited for my tenth EDC! Every single year has been spent with you GSCers, and I will not let that tradition fall! Anyone else planning the trip?
