  1. Hey! I just ordered my first pair of fire poi ever! I felt like I couldn't completely depart from my glowing roots, so I ordered it with the following: - The smallest monkey fists I could order (the weight difference with past fire poi I've tried always throws me) - Fire resistant rope called Technora rather than chain - Ultra Knobs, which are rechargeable LED handles They are arriving in a few days, so I will report back on what I think of them from a previously strictly glowstinging perspective. Up til now, I've had little to no interest in spinning fire because of how different it feels and the minimal wrapping options. But I'm interested to see how far the prop has come with these new options. Stay Tuned!
  2. Poi Classes in NYC

Hey everyone! I wanted to give a heads up about some upcoming classes for glowsticking's bastard cousin, poi I've been teaching poi classes in New York for the last 6 years, and for those of you who may be interested in a slightly different approach or angle, I'd like to invite you to try out a class -- it's a more structured environment with mirrors and we take a more step by step approach, working on specific tricks, transitions, and sequencing. There are 4 different levels this session, from beginner to intermediate, in which we're working on things like crossers, up stalls, antispin, wall plane flowers, and things like that. The last class is always a fire class. Maybe you're a ninja already, but someone you know needs a more foundational approach -- this would be perfect for them. And if your girlfriend wants to learn fire fans, I've got that covered too -- Fire Fan Choreography classes also start next week. Classes are in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and start next week the 13th, 14th, and 15th -- full details and description here. Love, LED, and Fire, Claire de Luxe
