I cracked a pair of sticks last night for the first time since 2011 or 2012. I really don't understand why I quit practicing freehanding on the norm for so long. Perhaps its because I started listening to other genres of music that don't inspire me to dance so much. I love those other genres, but they don't have that beat, flow and beauty of EDM that drives me to move to the music. I love glowsticking so much. It's such a great way for me to express myself and it's so beautiful and feels so freaking fantastic - and it's great exercise to boot. Once I cracked the sticks last night I found that I just couldn't stop. I practiced for hours. I remembered why I put so many thousands of hours of practice into this art. It's a part of who I am. Just like painters can't help but paint, bodybuilders can't help but work out, etc, glowsticking is something that's embedded so deep in my soul that once I got going it all came back to me and I did not want to stop. I'm a bit rusty now, and sore too from so much exercise I'm no longer used to doing regularly. My left hand doesn't want to hit the angles I worked for years training it to do. But that will change. Once I shake some of the rust off I'll start posting videos again. Just thought I would share my excitement at diving back into this wonderful art.

hey what's up youngins!(: i as a n00bie decided to pull out my needle and do some "THEARDING"(....not the best play on words). So I've been a member for a month now, and the word on the sticks is that US newbs tend to sign up, post a vid, then bail out never to be seen again. Now to me that'sa buncha jibba jabba, see im new to this site, but my passion for this art has been growing inside me for about a year now(10months as of yesterday) and im HERE to STAY! for years to come trust me. Getting to the point i decided to make this thread for US newcomers to show these vets that we're here, we understand what we stand for and want to be a part of this family. I feel that we are the Most passionate ones b/c we are virgins to this {we all know what that first time feels like....addiction} i know the feeling i get while stringing is impeccable. So us as newcomers are gonna have to reignite the flame, if you will, and carry on the culture once these geezers become old&brittle.xp jk So just post a little something regarding reassurance to these vets that we AINT goin nowwhere, and that we understand and are passionate about what we love doing, that is glowsticking and this gsc community!! -hope that sounds right, when i read it back, it sounds like Texas slang....ehh

I'm in the third one. This community means so much to me and everything you said was true icy in one way or another. You where one of the first sinor members I met at my first meeetup in 08. I don't get out much anymore unless I'm working or DJing a event. But when I do I'm normally the only freehander there. I feel so alone at times being part of a dying breed.

Hi all! Brooms is the name of a glowsticking retreat held over the weekend of July 8th in Indio California. The event was organized and run by Nitro and Demo. It was a three day long event that some 50 glowstickers attended where we practiced, performed, and taught glowsticking all weekend. In addition, we held LEDstick making workshops, held a Gala Show, and had an Ultra Circle! The video I linked is part 1 of a compilation of footage from the Gala Show. Please enjoy! More videos will be released in the coming weeks.

Yeah... I know you guys might not like this, but I agree with Osho. These rules are dumb. Glowstick at a school dance if you want.I don't care about the culture. I just want to dance and have fun anywhere. What do you mean people in high school are going to understand? What is there to understand? He's dancing with glowsticks. That looks cool and it's fun. Who cares if you perform at a talent show? Everybody's going to see it and think it's awesome. Nothing bad is going to come from it. All of this stuff in your heads.
