Duowrap Tutorial
Written by KaelGotRice
Sunday, 20 December 2009 12:01

If you haven't checked out the Intro to Glowstringing or the Wrap 101 tutorials yet, I would highly recommend you do so first. Then move on to these other concepts.

Duowrapping is a method of creating wrap combos, generally with long strings.

If you can’t manage basic wraps well, I’ll be blunt - Go back and practice those first. You will need control of basic wrapping and combo construction as well as arm strength and flexibility before thinking of attempting duowraps. Refer to Wes’ wrapping 101 as an excellent resource.

Please note that this article is strictly opinion based and does not reflect the views of glowsticking.com as a whole.

There has been a long standing debate on whether individual moves or practiced routines is the better way to go. While there is no true answer to this question, this article is intended to help show the difference between moves and routines and some of the downfalls and benefits of each.

String Manips: Whips and Shots
Written by melvenorc12
Thursday, 17 December 2009 14:36

I made a video that contained a few whips and shots, but I never formally introduced them so I decided to make this.

Here is the video I'm talking about, containing whips at 0:09 and 0:38 and shots at 0:46 and 1:09.

Now is this article to show every type of whip and shot possible? Not at all, I'm sure there are plenty plenty more for people to discover, and some I'm not showing... yet. I just simply want to get the ideas out there for people to build off from. This isn't a tutorial, rather more of a demonstration and discussion on the moves. I'd like to hear what people think about the moves and such.

Guide for Weave, Windmill, and Corkscrew
Written by AznStorm

Weaves, windmills, and corkscrews are all poi moves which are based on split-time ?same direction? spinning. These three moves are basically the same, except they are in different planes. If you imagine yourself in a box, there is a plane on your right side, one on your left side, one above you, one below you, one behind you, and one in front of you. Weaves are on the left and right planes while windmills are on the front and back planes. Corkscrew is above and below, but sometimes you will need to move your body to avoid the poi.

An article focused on how to fine-tone your skills to take it to the next level. I have recently enjoyed a phase of my learning that I feel is under mentioned throughout the spinning community:
